A place for observations.
Short notes about useful tools, quiet places and the details that make everyday things easier.
Leaving a little space
A notebook becomes more useful when it has room for a second thought. Leave the margin empty, give each subject its own page, and return to it after a walk. The first version does not need to contain everything.
Reading a map slowly
Before following the shortest route, look for a river, a park or a familiar landmark. A route is easier to remember when it connects places rather than instructions. On an unfamiliar street, a small detour can be the most useful part of the day.
Tools that stay out of the way
A good tool needs little explanation. Clear labels, sensible defaults and an easy way back are often more helpful than another setting. Keep a copy of what worked before making the next change.
